Kards Unlimited

7 Sep

One of our favorite stores in Pittsburgh is Kards Unlimited. Located on Walnut Street–the heart of the fantastic Shady Side neighborhood–Kards never disappoints.

As their name indicates, they have a huge collection of greeting cards for all occasions. Though, don’t go thinking this is your everyday “Hey! Spiderman wishes you a rad 5th birthday!” experience. As their website says, they are about as far removed from a Hallmark as possible.

Even if you’re not in the market for greeting cards, I still advise you to pay a visit. At Kards, of course, cards are only half of the story. The other half?

An incredible and incredibly unique section of books from across the literary spectrum. Old-fashioned, wind-up tin toys. Ice cube trays in the shape of Space Invaders. A mug with Henry VIII and his many wives painted on it. Pez Dispensers, Seinfeld T-Shirts, a ceramic statue of Elvis, and Jane Austen action figures.

I think you get the idea.

Kards always has some of the coolest merchandise you will find in Pittsburgh. It has a classic bookshop feel to it and amazing staff that will always draws you in and automatically makes your day better.

It’s truly a one of a kind place that is always worth just stopping by.
